I want to take my Apple computer to Mac Choice for repairs. How much is it going to cost?
Our standard service charge is $88.00 (inc GST) per hour (this does not include parts). Most repairs are fixed and ready for collection in around in 2-3 days (sometimes sooner, depending on the workload). Most repairs are completed within an hour once we get started, so your labour charge will not usually be more than $88.00 (unless you have a particularly tricky problem). If it looks like your repairs are going to be costly we will give you a call to discuss the price before we continue with the repair. There is a minimum fee of $44.00 (Inc GST) for any job which is beyond repair, uneconomical to repair, or if you decide not to go ahead after we have given you a quotation.
I can't get away to drop my Mac in for repairs. Can I have my computer fixed on-site?
Yes. A Mac Choice technician will attend your office/home if you are unable (or it is not convenient) to bring your computer in to our workshop for repairs. For On-Site repairs there is a call out fee of $44.00 and then you will be charged the standard rate of $88.00 per hour. The minimum charge for on-site service is 1 hour. If we come to your office/home to repair your Mac and find that it requires parts, or the environment is not suitable to complete the repairs, we will take your Mac back to our workshop and return it to you when it is fixed.
I need to have my Mac fixed immediately. Is this possible?
Yes. Mac Choice also has an express service rate. For an additional cost per hour, we will attend to your problem immediately, endeavoring to have you up and running again within a few hours. This will depend on the availability of parts if they are required.
My Macs are all working fine, but I would like to have them serviced anyway to keep them running at optimal performance.
Just as you get your car serviced every 10,000KM or so, it is a good idea to do the same with your Macintosh. The aim of this is to keep it running at optimal speed with fewer problems. We will clean the dust out of the inside of your Mac, run diagnostic software to fix minor problems, optimise your hard drive and clean the outer case, keyboard & mouse. Mac Choice can offer you preventative maintenance for your Macs and printers, if you have one Mac at home, or several in a school or office. Please call us to arrange a quotation on preventative maintenance for your Macintosh computer equipment.
Can I get a quote on my repair first?
Yes. If you would like a quote before we go ahead and repair your Mac, please let us know when you bring it in. A quote will cost you our minimum fee of $44.00 - however, if you go ahead with the repairs this fee will be waived.
What about my data?
Mac Choice guarantees our service and repairs so you can feel confident that you are receiving the best advice and attention at all times. However, the data on your Mac is your responsibility, and we cannot be held responsible for the loss of any data. If your data is important to you please back it up before you bring your Mac in for repairs. If you have no means to back up your data we can copy it to CD for you for a small fee. If your Mac has a problem with it's hard drive when you bring it in for repair, we will do everything we can to retrieve your data, but there are no guarantees that this will be possible, therefore we cannot stress strongly enough that it is critical to back up your important data frequently.
Do you give a warranty on repairs?
Mac Choice gives a three month warranty on all service/repairs. Apple replacement parts also carry a three month warranty. If your Mac is repaired by Mac Choice, and the same fault occurs within a three month period we will fix it again at no cost to you (providing the fault has not occurred due to the user re-introducing the problem, for example if we diagnose that there is a problem with a particular font/application/extension and we have removed it from the system it will not be covered under our service warranty if the problem file has been re-introduced). If we replace any part in your Mac with a non-apple part (e.g. hard drive) the part will be covered under the manufacturers standard warranty.
Can I purchase extended warranty for my Mac?
A year passes quickly when you're enjoying a new Mac, and wehn it does, gone too are the service and support options you enjoyed for that computer.
Unless, of course, you purchase an Applecare Protection Plan before your Limited Warranty period runs out. Purchasing a Protection Plan extends your coverage to up to three full years from your purchase date, entitling you to:

- Coverage for the Airport or Airport Extreme Card, Airport Extreme Base Station, and Apple RAM used with the covered system.

Yes! We sell everything you need for your Apple Computer or peripheral. Due to the fact that everything changes so often in this industry, we don't always have every product in stock; however, we can order anything you require, and it usually arrives within 1-2 days.
